How can I get assistance paying for an excessively expensive prescription drug?

July 16th, 2010

My sister was diagnosed with JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) when she was young child and she is now 17 and has not outgrown it. Recently she was prescribed some sort of daily shot that costs about ,000 a month. Insurance covers enough to make it ,000 a month but it’s still more than the family can afford. She is currently insured through the insurance my mother has at work. I need to know if there is some way we could get more coverage so she can take this extremely important medication.

What is a good, reputable drug rehab center that isn't insanely expensive?

July 15th, 2010

I have no insurance and no job. I am an adult but my Mom is using part of her retirement savings to send me to rehab so I want to get the most out of it that I can. I want to go somewhere nice with staff that is VERY CARING. It is also crucial that they have a lot of activities other than just meetings. I’m planning on going 90 days as the usual 28 days just doesnt’ seem long enough. I’m very scared of going because I’m afraid of detoxing, any advice? It would be nice to go somewhere very preety and relaxing as well!

What is the best health insurance plan for an individual and what does it all mean?

July 14th, 2010

I’m 27 and looking for affordable health insurance just for myself. I don’t know what all the terminology means like PPO and deductibles, etc. Also, I have a history of sinus problems and am looking to get covered in case I need surgery. Preferrably, I’d like small doctor visit charges, drugs covered, and major things like hospital stays/surgery to be 100% covered. Any thoughts I would really appreciate! Thanks!

What regularly taken, maintenance, prescription drug is the most expensive (per year)?

July 13th, 2010

I am a long term (20+ years) kidney transplant recipient. One of the drugs that I take, on a daily basis (Neoral), costs approximately ,000.00 per year for the brand name (Novartis) version at my dosage. The generic version (cyclosporin, modified) costs ,000.00 per year. Needless to say these are an insurmountable expense for most patients without insurance. Are there other conditions that require prescriptions as pricey as this? What are the drugs names?
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration.

I have a simple question. Do insurance companies send a list of prescription drugs that it has covered in the past month or so to the owner of the insurance? (I’m talking specifically about blue cross/blue shield)
No I’m not talking about my employer, I’m actually talking about my parents…just to clarify.

i'm a sober drug addict whose been taking suboxone for 4 years now. I have no insurance and cannot get?

July 8th, 2010

the drug anymore. I try to tell myself i don’t need it all the time but when it comes down to actually quitting it is almost as bad as coming of oxycontin. Not so much the physical aspect but the mental aspect X10. I can never make it past 3 days. Nobody understands what i’m going through so nobody can help me. I’ve been taking 2mg a day for years and i really can’t ween myself off of 2mg a day without bumping my dose up for months and then weening off. Like i said i cannot get the drug so cannot do this. Anybody know any homeopathic or alternative medicines that would help me? Anybody with other suggestions or anyone gone through this before? Please help
